Two friends from Jersey are going on an adventure: Marie, a former journalist and lifelong blood donation advocate, and Lori, a former educator who lost her husband to cancer, will travel Route 66 collecting stories of kindness, connection, and community.
Lori and Marie’s goal is not only to inspire 2,500 blood donations — one for every mile they’ll travel — but to help end the chronic blood shortage by inspiring a new generation of lifelong blood donors across America.
The cross-country journey starts July 7th.

For Lori, this journey is personal. After her husband passed away in 2022, she made it her mission to spread the word about blood donation and to donate herself every chance she gets.
From Hometown to Highway: the official kick off
Before hitting Route 66, Lori and Marie were surrounded by the community that shaped them. Cranford’s incredible send-off was more than a celebration—it was the first spark of the movement.
